Building Better Careers: What Training Looks Like at Spa Nursing Home Group

At Spa Nursing Home Group, we understand that great care starts with great people—and great people deserve the best training and support. That’s why we place such a strong emphasis on staff training and development. Whether you’re just starting your career in care or looking to grow within the sector, we’re here to help you succeed.

A Supportive Start: Induction and Mandatory Training

Every new team member is welcomed into our homes with a clear and structured induction. This includes 2 to 3 shadowing shifts, giving you hands-on experience alongside our experienced staff. You’ll get to know our residents, understand our routines, and feel supported as you settle into your role.

You’ll also complete a comprehensive set of mandatory training modules—both online and in face-to-face sessions—which cover all essential areas including:

  • Moving & Handling

  • First Aid

  • Food Hygiene

  • COSHH

  • Deprivation of Liberty

  • Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults

  • Fire Safety

This ensures that everyone, regardless of background or previous experience, is equipped with the knowledge and confidence to provide safe, person-centred care.

Going Further: Ongoing Learning and Non-Mandatory Training

What really sets Spa Nursing Home Group apart is our commitment to continuous learning. We actively encourage staff to pursue non-mandatory training, and we’re always excited to hear what courses or qualifications our team members have completed. Whether it's specialist training in palliative care, advanced dementia techniques, communication skills, or leadership development—we support and celebrate professional growth.

Many of our staff have gone on to develop their careers through further education, internal promotions, or even moving into specialist or managerial roles. We believe in recognising potential and helping it flourish.

Why This Matters—for You and for Our Residents

When you join Spa Nursing Home Group, you're not just taking a job—you’re joining a team that invests in your future. Our approach to training helps ensure our residents receive the very best care, while giving our staff a real sense of purpose, pride, and progress.

If you’re looking for a workplace that values your development, supports your ambitions, and gives you the tools to make a meaningful difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
