Safeguarding Principles
Our approach is guided by five key principles:
Rights-Based – Respecting each individual's rights and dignity.
Empowering – Supporting informed decision-making and independence.
Person-Centred – Involving residents in decisions affecting their lives.
Consent-Driven – Acting only with informed consent, unless legally required.
Collaborative – Working with families, professionals and safeguarding partners.
Reporting Abuse
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Suspected abuse must be reported immediately to the Home Manager. Reports are escalated to the relevant Health and Social Care Trust, and where necessary, to the PSNI and RQIA. All allegations are investigated in line with local and national protocols.
Staff Protection
We also protect our staff from abuse, including verbal threats, intimidation and harassment. Support is available through management, HR and trade unions.
